Imagine a transparent ballot box that is visible to you and everyone else at all times, but doesn’t disclose your private information. This ballot box is also immutable and can be used for everything from corporate surveys to national elections.

This is the promise offered by the AnonSurvey app. It helps companies build a questionnaire, survey, voting form, or any data collection form you can think of, to privately and securely collect data from users.

Eli Afram, Creator of AnonSurvey, noted that the app initially came about as part of his ongoing work in a local government council in Australia. He noted that the council had no reliable, easy way to survey its constituents. He noted that this is not just a problem for one council, but in any government organisation or business where voters need to see that their vote was counted in crucial elections.

Voting secured by the blockchain

While several online survey tools already exist, AnonSurvey differentiates itself as it is built on BSV blockchain. ‘A key strength of blockchain is in its transparency, which acts as an open ledger,’ said Afram.

‘As a result, blockchain-based voting can help curb political corruption. Anyone can add the tally up themselves and since it’s all electronic, the tally is automatic. But everyone can check for themselves.’

Afram noted that these votes are immutable and that if someone wants to refer back to them years from now, such as doing an academic survey as part of research work, those surveys are going to be immutably recorded on the blockchain for decades and decades. ‘What happens on the blockchain stays on the blockchain. When your vote is cast, it stays there,’ he said.

What can you do with AnonSurvey?

Afram noted that users can use AnonSurvey to create anything from voting forms to surveys, polls and more. The app collects responses automatically and the responder simply has to submit their answers. He added that statistics are collated automatically and each response has a link to that transaction.

‘All the Bitcoin and blockchain stuff is behind the scenes. There are no wallets or additional apps needed. Users don’t need any (prior) blockchain or Bitcoin knowledge, meaning there is no additional confusion.’

Afram said that he built AnonSurvey on BSV in particular because he is a long-time advocate of a scaling blockchain. While this has obvious advantages, Afram said that one of the key benefits is lower fees.

He added that AnonSurvey has several potential applications across both the public and private sectors including:

  • Democratic elections;
  • Shareholder voting;
  • Academic surveys;
  • Consumer surveys;
  • Council voting;
  • Census reports;
  • Board voting;
  • Employee satisfaction surveys.

A full feature set for businesses and governments

With AnonSurvey, enterprises also have access to other key features, including:

  • One-click reports: Generate reports and analytics with a click of a button. Alternatively, users can explore the data to do their slicing and dicing.
  • Privacy: AnonSurvey preserves a respondee’s anonymity and collects accurate responses assuring privacy is maintained.
  • Immutable responses: The choice to publish replies to the blockchain immutably for verification purposes is provided as an option.
  • WYSIWYG builder: Users can easily build forms, mass mail or distribute links themselves.
